Literally the Worst Cliche Ever.

Am I the only one who has never actually seen a good use for this cliche? This bad of a cliche shouldn't have stood the test of time.

Don't Knock it until you try it. The worst cliche ever.

Not only will I knock it, but I will never try it.

It's called observation. Just observe things and decide their merit. If drugs look like they have negative consequences, I will knock them and not try them.

If murder seems to have negative consequences, I will knock it and not try it.

If jumping out of airplanes and forgetting my parachute logically seems to have more negatives than positives, I will knock it and not try it.

There are tons of reasons to knock things before you try them. Besides simple observation, you can listen to people with experience. The entire book of Proverbs in the Bible is about how to take in instruction and apply it to your life. In other words, learn to knock things that other people tell you to knock and never try them.

The book of Proverbs is all about learning lessons the easy way. Don't make mistakes that other people warn you not to make. It's simple, but apparently incredibly difficult.

With cliches like "don't knock it until you try it" floating around in society today, it's no wonder that nearly everyone continues to repeat the same mistakes as everyone else.

Essentially, this entire post is telling you to knock it before you try it.

What other cliches give you terrible advice?
